Jouw rol & werkomgeving
Als Senior Java Engineer verdeel je je tijd tussen het leiden van een team en het bouwen van robuuste applicaties. Ongeveer 40% van je tijd besteed je aan coderen naast je team, waarbij je complexe technische uitdagingen aangaat. De rest van je tijd richt je je op people management en chapter leadership, waarbij je de expertise van je team ontwikkelt, groei bevordert en zorgt voor een cultuur van hoge prestaties.
In samenwerking met de Product Lead en Architect help je de technologische visie vorm te geven en ontwikkel je veilige, duurzame oplossingen. Je maakt deel uit van het IT-managementteam en draagt bij aan de algemene strategie, terwijl je hands-on betrokken blijft bij je werk.
Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden:
- Creëer en bevorder een professionele en samenwerkende cultuur
- Geef het goede voorbeeld door 40% van je tijd bij te dragen als Software Engineer
- Stimuleer agile werkwijzen en een ‘doen in plaats van praten’-mentaliteit
- Verhoog de IT-maturiteit en zorg voor een hoge squad-performance
- Deel en pas je kennis van de nieuwste IT-ontwikkelingen toe
- Begeleid en coach teamleden in zowel professionele als persoonlijke groei
- Ondersteun het aannemen en ontwikkelen van toptalent voor jouw chapter
- Werk nauw samen met het leiderschapsteam om de squad-prestaties te optimaliseren en kritieke doelen te bereiken
Vereiste technische vaardigheden:
- 10+ jaar ervaring in het Java-ecosysteem
- Sterk begrip van software-architectuur en continue integratie/levering
- Ervaring met teststrategieën (JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber)
- Bekendheid met monitoringoplossingen zoals Kibana en Grafana
- Vermogen om zakelijke behoeften om te zetten in waardevolle softwareoplossingen

Your role & work environment
As a Senior Java Engineer, you’ll divide your time between leading a team and building robust applications. You’ll spend 40% of your time coding alongside the squad, tackling complex technical challenges. The rest of your time will be dedicated to people management and chapter leadership, where you’ll focus on developing your team’s expertise, fostering growth, and ensuring a high-performing culture.
Collaborating with the Product Lead and Architect, you’ll help define the technological vision and develop solutions that are secure and built to last. You’ll be an integral part of the IT management team, contributing to the overall strategy while staying hands-on with your work.
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Skills Required:
– 10+ years of experience in the Java ecosystem
– Strong understanding of software architecture and continuous integration/delivery
– Proven experience implementing test strategies (JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber)
– Familiarity with monitoring solutions like Kibana and Grafana
– Ability to translate business needs into valuable software solutions
