Our sailing team has sets their sights on the European Championship in Vilamoura, Portugal from November 8 to 13. The championship will see Dutch athletes competing in the 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra17 classes, with an eye on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This collaboration between Portera and Team Allianz underscores a shared commitment to excellence in water sports.

Van Aanholt and Duetz: Pioneering Excellence in 49erFX

Odile van Aanholt and Annette Duetz, have already secured their Olympic qualification in the women’s skiff class since their remarkable performance at the Allianz World Championships 2023. Despite Duetz’s knee injury, the pair clinched a commendable second place at the World Championships last summer. Their dedication to mental and physical fitness, including innovative training in the AC40 simulator, showcases their pursuit of excellence both on and off the water. Portera’s partnership with Team Allianz adds extra support to their journey.

Lambriex and van de Werken: Chasing Olympic Dreams

In the 49er class, Portera-backed sailors Bart Lambriex and Floris van de Werken, triple world champions, are on the brink of securing their spot in the national selection for the Olympics. Having recently been nominated for the prestigious ‘World Sailor of the Year Award’, this formidable duo, is poised for another triumphant campaign. Their return to joint training after a short break, which promises to bring a fresh perspective, setting the stage for a successful run towards the Games.
