The explosive growth in public cloud computing shows no signs of abating any time soon. Spending with the three largest cloud companies—Amazon, Microsoft, and Google—soared by $148 billion in the past five years, to $211 billion in 2023, a 337% jump. Almost 30% of IT leaders say their companies plan to increase spending on the cloud during the next 12 months.
